The Directories tool contains digitized versions of city directories and other historical directories from several cities and regions, including Montreal, Quebec City, Laval, Ottawa and Hull, the South Shore, Rimouski, Saint-Jean and Cornwall, as well as a mining directory. The directories are organized by collection, year and, when available, by category.
The Montreal collection contains the Lovell, which covers the Greater Montreal area from 1843 to 1978. The Quebec City collection includes the Marcotte, which covers Quebec City and the surrounding area from 1822 to 1904, with some years missing.
Other collections offer varying coverage depending on the city or region, including Laval from 1958 to 1963 and 1968, the South Shore from 1956 to 1966, and Ottawa and Hull from 1875 to 2000.
